Wangarang provides Social Support to enable people to engage in community, social and recreational activities.
Our friendly staff can provide support to help you to achieve your goals and we would be happy to talk to you about activities that you would like to do and how we may be able to assists you.
Some of the support that we are currently providing includes:
Cooking:
Our friendly staff can come to your home and help you to find a recipe that you would like to cook. We can then help you to check your cupboards/pantry to see if you have the ingredients you need and help you to prepare a shopping list to what you don’t have.
We can take you to the supermarket where you can purchase what you need and while your there we can help you with money handling skills if needed. We then help to help you with preparing and cooking the meal, cleaning up, the storage of leftovers and safe food handling skills.
Community outings:
Our fun loving staff can accompany you to places such as the Cinema, the circus, markets, church or maybe to Lake Canobolas for a picnic.
We can also go with you to sporting events, whether it be as a spectator or as a participant. This could include going ten-pin bowling or to watch the footy.
Why not have one of our staff provide support for you to go out for lunch, or dinner at a restaurant or café or maybe you’d just like to go out for a cuppa and a chat.
Appointments/Errands:
Sometimes it can be difficult to get to appointments or meetings. Our staff can assist you with attending medical appointments such as doctors or specialists, going to pathology or having an x-ray.
We can help with going down town to do banking, pay your bills or post a letter at the Post Office.
To be eligible to be a participant in Wangrang’s Social Support groups you will just need to have the Appropriate funding in your NDIS plan.
